This is day four, in a series of work made each day of the COVID Pandemic of 2020.  I'm hoping that by focusing on my art, I might maintain a little sanity during these trying times! 

Lantern Bugs are some of my favorite insects to photograph- the colors and patterns in the wings are amazing- even if they are a little creepy.  The heart appeared unintentionally in this one, and I found it so suitable for the times...

This series of mandalas were created using images of various species of butterflies, moths and other insects. I began with my own original photograph, then digitally altered the image to create an abstract mandala that mimics the insects’ own natural symmetry.
