I have been hanging onto this little mantis for quite some time.  I finally decided to use him this last fall, and once I saw his little arms in a radial pattern, I was obsessed! 

This piece is just so whimsical and fun!  I love that you can't immediately see the body of the mantis until closer inspection, adding such a fun surprise to the piece! 

This digital collage was created by photographing this little mantis.  I then created multiple "mandalas" from the original photograph, and began to layer them, as if I was making an analog collage.
